Mechanical Engineer
Plant Engineering
Trained as a Mechanical Engineer (Plant Option), where I am responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of plant machinery and utility systems to ensure efficient, safe, and continuous production. My role involves conducting routine inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, boilers, conveyors, gearboxes, and production lines to minimize breakdowns and downtime. I participate in plant installations, commissioning, and shutdown maintenance, ensuring all equipment meets operational and safety standards. I also monitor machine performance, identify faults, carry out root-cause analysis, and implement improvement measures to enhance reliability and extend equipment lifespan. In addition, I work closely with production, electrical, and safety teams to support daily operations, comply with OSHA and KEBS regulations, and maintain proper documentation, including maintenance logs, job cards, and spare-parts records. I am involved in energy management, workshop practices, fabrication works, and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules, contributing to cost control, productivity improvement, and overall plant efficiency.
